NO BARRIERS 2 SUCCESS
MISSION & HISTORY.
Formed as an LLC in 2017 and transitioning to a nonprofit in 2024, No Barriers 2 Success (NB2S) is committed to serving at-risk, low-income youth in Detroit, primarily aged 16-22. Many of these young individuals face significant challenges in employment and training due to economic hardships, educational barriers, and environmental factors such as being returning citizens. NB2S focuses on supporting youth who are deficient in basic skills, providing them with the resources and guidance needed to overcome obstacles and build a better future. The organization's mission is to help youth gain the necessary skills to overcome any obstacle preventing them from achieving success. NB2S empowers young people with the desire for education, the drive to succeed in their chosen career field, the strength of good character, and a commitment to community service.
NB2S offers Work Readiness Training, Career Opportunities, and Education Enhancement experiences in a fun and safe environment. As a youth-led organization, it helps address food insecurity by providing meals at each session, ensuring participants have the nourishment needed to focus and thrive. Through strong partnerships, NB2S has facilitated employment opportunities for over 1,750 youth, connecting them to the GDYT Summer program as well as part-time and full-time positions in the private sector. Additionally, the organization supports participants in navigating the high school graduation process, selecting and registering for post-secondary education, and gaining access to skilled trade training—creating a comprehensive support system for Detroit’s youth.
Training & Employment.
No Barriers 2 Success was formed to provide Employment & Training services for metro Detroit youth, ages 16 – 24 years, who face one or more barriers to achieving academic or career success. Our organization is dedicated to providing life skills, career readiness, employability skills, college prep, financial literacy, and employment opportunities to empower young individuals to overcome obstacles and achieve success in their academic and professional lives.

No Barriers 2 Success collaborates with a diverse network of partners, including local businesses, educational institutions, community organizations, and government agencies. Together, we work towards the common goal of creating a supportive and inclusive environment for the youth in metro Detroit. Our partners play a crucial role in helping us deliver impactful programs and opportunities that enable young individuals to overcome barriers and thrive in their educational and professional journeys.
